In 2007, census, there are 18 residents and 13 households presently in Balfour.
While we were there, we didn't see anyone at all. The statistics are a little grim indicating no income more than 35,000
and 33% of the housing is vacant. In twenty-five years, this town will be pretty much gone.
Above is one of the few "refurbished" buildings downtown, and we saw no activity there. This
is, as labeled, the Community Hall.

This appears to be either an
old bank or store. The building
looks to be in pretty good shape
sans the windows etc. This is on the
"main" street.
One of many abandoned homes.
Another home long since vacant.
The old school, it is a pretty neat building.
Doubtful it would ever be refurbished.
In looking up some statistics on this church,
From the ELCA website indicates
that the average worship attendance
is 12 as of 2007, with 34 baptized members. They have gone from worshiping 24 people to approximately 12.All the members are white, and only 35.3 percent of members are attending at this time.
